Thepositioniscomprehensiveandthesuccessfulcandidatewillbeaprovenandeffectivecommunicator.Organizationalskillsaremandatory,alongwiththeabilitytomanagemultipleprogramssimultaneously.Appropriateinterpersonalstylesandcommunicationmethodstoworkeffectivelywithbusinesspartnerstomeetmutualgoalsarerequired.TheToolingEngineerwillbeaccountableforpreparingcostestimatesoftoolingchangesforsubmissionandabletomanagethescope,cost,timing,resourcesandqualityofsaidchanges.Thecandidateshouldbefluentwithtechnologytools(CAD,Office,telecommunications)inordertoprovidetechnicalexpertiseintheareasofproduct,material,processandquality.Responsibilities:Understands,adherestoandpracticessafetyguidelinesintheproductionenvironment.ManagestoolingfornewjobsinaccordancewithFNGandcustomerspecifications.ReviewstooldesignssubmittedbytoolsourcesandmakesnecessaryrecommendationstomeetLHMstandardsandcustomerspecificationstoassureprocesscapability.Ensuresadvancedprogramsadheretocustomerspecificationsandestablishedstandards.UnderstandsandinterpretsGD&T,providingguidanceasneededandpertainingtoprocess,capabilityandstampingproductivityUnderstands,andprovidetechnicalguidancefortri-axisautomationtoolingasitpertainstostampingdiedesignandtransfertooling.UnderstandsFLDandformabilityanalysisasitpertainstometalstamping.Responsibleforthetransferofengineeringdatatosupplieroperationswhennecessary.Createsandmaintainstimelinesforproductiontoolingandengineeringchanges,primarytryoutsatvendorsites,andfinalhomelinetryoutandcommissioning.Monitorsprogressofjobsbeingperformedbytoolsourcesandprovidestechnicalsupportandguidance.Followsupontoolingrelatedtoengineeringchangesornewbuildsandprovidesdirectionandassistancetovendors.AnalyzesandimplementsaneffectivemethodtoreducesteelprogressionCreatesECNforengineeringchangesandmanagesthetoolingchangesonexistingjobsResponsibleforverificationofallinformationsubmittedbyvendorsEnsuresthatallinformationandcommunicationsaredocumentedandrelayedthroughouttheappropriatechannels.Identifiesandqualifiesallpotentialprogramrisks,identifiesprogramunknownsandestablishescontingencyplanstokeeptheprogramprogressing.AttendsAPQPmeetingstosupportsuccessfullaunchofnewprograms.Attendsnewtoolingreviewswithcorporatetoolingdesignteam.Allotherdutiesasassigned.Qualifications:Minimum10yearsofexperiencedirectlyrelatedtoToolandDieEngineeringDegree,CollegeDiplomaand/orJourneymanStatus,Knowledgeofmanufacturingsystemsrelatedtometalstampings.Technicallyinclined.Strongcommitmenttoquality.Provenworkingexperienceinthefollowingareasispreferred:shopfloorinpressmachiningtoolanddiedesignformabilityanalysis
